Wee History of Scotland’s Stalking

Wee History of Scotland’s Stalking

Scotland is home to four species of deer: Red, Roe, Fallow and Sika. Each of these species has a different season for males and females.

Etsy – A Hunters Prayer, “We pray our sights be straight and our aim be true.  We pray for no pain to the game we pursue.  We thank you, Lord, for this land.  We thank you for the sights from our stands.  We pray for safety on and all.  We pray we may return next Fall.”

Red deer are, however, the iconic species, with the big stags – sometimes called the ‘monarch of the glen’ – drawing people from all over the world.
